Overview of freedom of media in Eritrea
Although the Eritrean constitution guarantees freedom of speech and press, Eritrea has been ranked as one of the worst countries in terms of freedom of the press.[1] As of 2004[update], the press in Eritrea under the government led by Isaias Afwerki remained tightly controlled.[2]
