Ban on factions in the Communist Party of the Soviet Union information

In 1921, factions were banned in the Russian Communist Party (Bolsheviks)[1] according to democratic centralism.[2] Lenin described the ban as temporary[3][4][5][6] and had criticised a proposed amendment for a permanent ban as "excessive" and "impracticable".[7] The ban was seen as temporary by contemporaries during the period.[8]
