Trelawny Southern is a parliamentary constituency represented in the House of Representatives of the Jamaican Parliament. It elects one Member of Parliament (MP) by the first past the post system of election. It was one of the 32 constituencies fixed in the new constitution granted to Jamaica in 1944.[3][4] The constituency has featured in all 16 contested Parliamentary General Elections from 1944 to 2016. The last MP was Marisa Dalrymple-Philibert, representing the Jamaica Labour Party, who has been in office since 2007.[5] She was Speaker and resigned as MP on September 21, 2023.[6]
