Synaptic vesicle glycoprotein 2A is a ubiquitous synaptic vesicle protein that in humans is encoded by the SV2A gene.[5][6][7] It is present in every synapse of the human nervous system, irrespective of neurotransmitter type.[8] The protein is targeted by the anti-epileptic drugs (anticonvulsants) levetiracetam and brivaracetam.[9]
