Old Stock Americans, Pioneer Stock, or Colonial Stock, are Americans who are descended from the original settlers of the Thirteen Colonies. They were mainly white Protestants from Northern Europe, who emigrated to British America in the 17th and the 18th centuries.[2][3][4][5]
Some Old Stock Americans, primarily English Protestants, saw Catholics as a threat to traditional American republican values, as they were loyal to a foreign pope.[6][7][8][9]
