The Militia Act of 1808 (Pub. L.Tooltip Public Law (United States) 10–52), formally "An act making provision for arming and equipping the whole body of the militia of the United States", enacted April 23, 1808,[1] was legislation enacted by the 10th United States Congress that provided an annual appropriation of $200,000, to provide funding for arms and equipment for the various state militias.
