Lexham is a parish consisting of the twin villages of East Lexham and West Lexham situated in the Breckland District of Norfolk and covers an area of 9.73 km2 (3.76 sq mi) with a population of 157 at the 2001 census.[1] The Lexham villages are just over a mile apart and lie 6.5 miles (10.5 km) north of Swaffham and 18 miles (29 km) by road east from Kings Lynn.
It is served by St.Nicholas church in West Lexham[2] and St.Andrews in East Lexham[3] in the Benefice of Litcham. Both churches have round towers with St.Andrews reputed to be the oldest in the country.[4]
The Nar Valley Way passes through the villages with a permissive path through the grounds of Lexham Hall estate.[5]
