The Houthitribe (Arabic: قبيلة الحوثي) is a Hamdanid Arab tribe that lives in northern Yemen. The tribe is a branch from Banu Hamdan tribe.[1][2] They are primarily located in 'Amran and Saada.[3] The Houthi movement is named after the tribe. Al-Harith AlA'war was from the Houthi tribe.[4][5][6] He was one of the first Ali's supporters.[7][6]
