Aecidium is a genus of rust fungi in the order Pucciniales.
The widespread genus was estimated to contain about 600 species in 2008.[2] As of 27 August 2023[update], the GBIF lists up to 947 species,[3] while Species Fungorum lists about 816 species (out of 1251 records).[4] About 800 species are accepted by Wijayawardene et al. 2020.[5]
