The Xiaomi SU7 (Chinese: 小米SU7; pinyin: Xiǎomǐ SU7, pronounced "/su/ seven" or /sutʃiː/s-oo-tch-ee in Chinese)[4][5] is a battery electric full-size sedan developed by Chinese company Xiaomi Auto, a subsidiary of the Chinese consumer electronics company Xiaomi. It is the first Xiaomi vehicle, and is manufactured under contract by BAIC Off-road in Beijing. It was announced in December 2023. The car was formally launched on 28 March 2024 in Beijing, with Xiaomi starting to take orders for the car on that day.[6]
According to Xiaomi, 'SU' stands for 'Speed Ultra',[7][8] and the number 7 indicates the car's market segment.[9] 'SU' may also be a reference to the Chinese word 速 (pinyin: sù), meaning 'speed'. The SU7 is available in three versions, namely the SU7, SU7 Pro, and SU7 Max.[10]
