Sudan Airways (Arabic: الخطوط الجوية السودانية) is the national airline of Sudan,[1] headquartered in Khartoum. Since 2012, the company has been fully owned by the Government of Sudan.[2]
One of the oldest African carriers,[1] it was formed in February 1946 (1946-02) and started scheduled operations in July the following year. As of December 2011[update], Sudan Airways had 1,700 employees.[3] The airline has been included in the list of air carriers banned in the European Union since March 2010 (2010-03)[update].
