The mountain gazelle (Gazella gazella), also called the true gazelle, the Israeli gazelle,[3] or the Palestine mountain gazelle,[4][5][6] is a species of gazelle that is widely but unevenly distributed.[7]

Approximately 6,000 are left in the wild as of 2024.[3][8][9] The mountain gazelle is protected under Israeli law, with Israel being the last major sanctuary of the species in the Levant.[3]
