The military ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) were established on March 1992, when Ukraine adopted the Law on Military Duty and Military Service 1992.[1]
The Ukrainian Armed Forces have two styles of ranks:
Army ranks, which are used by ground forces as well as aerial forces
Naval ranks, which are used by the Ukrainian Navy
Whilst previously Ukraine maintained a USSR-style system, its current system follows a NATO standardization.
