Kathenotheism is a term coined by the philologist Max Müller who posed this term to describe an alternative to monotheism, worship of one god at a time. It is closely related to henotheism, the worship of one god while not rejecting the existence of other gods. Müller coined the term in reference to the Vedic religion, where more than one god exists, however, one Supreme God, called Brahman occupies the highest position of divine authority. A Kathenency describes a system of global rule where all existing Gods recognize one Supreme God in the highest position of authority with all other existing gods and goddesses ruling "one by one" or 'one at a time'. All gods in succession, support the unilateral decision-making authority of a Supreme God in the highest. A monarchy answers to the divine authority of the Kathenency.
