John Stewart Bryan (October 23, 1871 – October 16, 1944) was an American newspaper publisher, attorney, and college president. He was the nineteenth president of the College of William and Mary, serving from 1934 to 1942.[1][2] He also served as the fourth American chancellor of the college from 1942 to 1944.

Prior to his service as president of the College of William and Mary, Bryan served as the publisher of the Richmond Times-Dispatch and the president of the American Newspaper Publishers Association.[3]
