German Army cryptographic systems of World War II information
German Army cryptographic systems of World War II were based on the use of three types of cryptographic machines that were used to encrypt communications between units at the division level. These were the Enigma machine,[1] the teleprinter cipher attachment (Lorenz cipher),[2] and the cipher teleprinter the Siemens and Halske T52,[3] (Siemens T-43). All were considered insecure.
