Damyan Yovanov Gruev (Bulgarian: Дамян Йованов Груев, Macedonian: Дамјан Јованов Груев^[a] January 19, 1871 – December 23, 1906) was а Bulgarian teacher,^[3]^[4] revolutionary and insurgent leader in the Ottoman regions of Macedonia and Thrace.^[5] He was one of the six founders of the Internal Macedonian Revolutionary Organization.

As it became more powerful, IMRO was able to impress upon the Exarchate its wishes for teacher and inspector appointments in Macedonia."
