Captorhinus (from Greek: καπτōkaptō, 'to gulp down' and Greek: ῥῑνόςrhīnós, 'nose')[1] is an extinct genus of captorhinid reptiles that lived during the Permian period. Its remains are known from North America (Oklahoma, Texas) and possibly South America.
