Zari David "Bebo" Kovo [1] is an Israeli-Bulgarian property developer. He was one of the partners of property company Camden Market Holdings & Developments.[2]
Kobo was convicted in 1979 of raping a woman who was a passenger in his car, and was sentenced to 18 months in prison. In 2005, Kobo sued the "People" newspaper for defamation after an article about his partner, Miri Bohadana, was published containing personal details.[3][4][5] It included information about him from the 1970s that was deleted from the defense letter of the People newspaper by court order.[6] About eight months later, the District Court in Tel Aviv allowed the People newspaper to use Kobo's previous conviction in the current libel suit. By 2008, Kobo withdrew the lawsuit as part of a settlement where he gained ownership of the newspaper's name. The editor and reporters apologized for the false information and harm caused to Kobo's reputation.[7][8]
