West Point Colored High School information


West Point Colored High School was a school for African American students in West Point, Mississippi. It was designed by E L. Malvaney of Jackson, Mississippi and constructed in 1946.[1] It is at 425 Fifth Street. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and is a Mississippi Landmark. After desegregation it was used as Northside School.

It is documented as also having been known as Fifth Street School and Northside School.[1]

In 2011 and 2016, the Mississippi Department of Archives and History awarded money for roof work at the school building.[2][3]
