The University of the Incarnate Word (UIW) is a private, Catholic university with its main campus in San Antonio and Alamo Heights, Texas.[5][6][7] Founded in 1881 by the Sisters of Charity of the Incarnate Word, the university's main campus is located on 154 acres (0.6 km2). It is the largest Catholic university in Texas.[8]

The university encompasses 11 schools and colleges, 2 campuses in Mexico, a European Study Center, Global Online (a program offering degrees to students in Latin America) as well as a co-educational high school, St. Anthony Catholic High School.
