Tom Candy Ponting (August 26, 1824 - October 11, 1916) was an American rancher, farmer and cattle driver.[1] In 1853–1854, together with his business partner, Washington Malone, they were the first people to drive a herd of Texas Longhorn cattle from Texas to New York City, the longest cattle drive in American history.[2]
