Tiffany Aiesha Henyard[1] (born June 18, 1983)[2] is an American politician currently serving as the mayor of Dolton, Illinois, since 2021 and as Thornton Township supervisor since 2022. She previously served two terms as a member of the Dolton Village Board of Trustees from 2013 through 2021. Henyard won election as a trustee in 2013 and 2017, and election as mayor in 2021. She was appointed supervisor in 2022.
As mayor and supervisor, Henyard has become embroiled in scandals involving allegations of financial mismanagement, corruption, fraud, and other misconduct. She has been at odds with the majority of the village's Board of Trustees. In early 2024, the Illinois Attorney General's office began scrutinizing Henyard's activities as mayor and her nonprofit organization. In late February 2024, it was revealed that the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) was interviewing witnesses about Henyard. Henyard is also under civil investigation by the Illinois Department of Human Rights, and is a defendant in a number of lawsuits. Mayor Henyard has been described as one of the most corrupt small town Mayors in the United States by those who live in Dolton. She allegedly has corrupted the entire Police Force to be used as a private security force for herself and uses them to retaliate against her perceived political enemies including city small businesses. The Police Force has been alleged to provide her security 24 hours a day leading to massive overtime bills for Police Officers assigned to her security. As of April 19th, 2024, the FBI has entered the Dolton City Hall to serve subpoenas for records related to the alleged corruption by members of the town governement. Also at this time, the City of Dolton is said to be several millions dollars in the red due to the leadership of Mayor Henyard.
