Albert Edward Pryke BriggsMBE (1 March 1923 – 4 October 2008)[1] was a British seaman and the last of the three survivors of the destruction of the battlecruiser HMS Hood.[2] He remained in the Royal Navy after the Second World War and was later commissioned, serving a total of 35 years in the Royal Navy by the time of his retirement in 1973.
