The Technological Educational Institute (TEI) of Athens (TEI ATH; Greek: Ανώτατο Τεχνολογικό Εκπαιδευτικό Ίδρυμα Αθήνας) was a state higher-educational institute in Athens,[1][2] only for applied sciences.
Founded in 1983, it originated from one of the first five Centres for Higher Technical Education (Greek: Κέντρα Ανώτερης Τεχνικής Επαγγελματικής Εκπαίδευσης, Κ.Α.Τ.Ε.Ε.) initially established in 1974.[3] The Technological Educational Institute of Athens offered a wide range of undergraduate and some -level 7- postgraduate studies.[4]
On 1 March 2018, the institute definitively ceased its operation, with its merger with the ΤΕΙ of Piraeus and its upgrading to a University Institution, the newly established University of West Attica (Greek: Πανεπιστήμιο Δυτικής Αττικής).[5][6]

However, there are specific points of criticism that have been specifically addressed in this report. The EEC believes that by considering our suggestions TEI-A has an opportunity to set a national or even European standard in the field of higher technological education."
