Steve Boone (born John Stephen Boone, September 23, 1943)[1] is an American bass guitarist and music producer, best-known as a member of the American folk-rock group the Lovin' Spoonful. Steve co-wrote two of the groups' biggest hits, "You Didn't Have to Be So Nice" and "Summer in the City".
Steve has played in the Lovin Spoonful since its reformation in 1991 with founding member Joe Butler and was inducted as a member of the band into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2000[2] and as a member into the Vocal Group Hall of Fame in 2006.[3]
