Protea effusa, sometimes known as the scarlet sugarbush,[3][5][6] is a flowering plant which belongs to the genus Protea.[3][5] The plant is endemic to the Western Cape province of South Africa.[3] In the Afrikaans language the vernacular name blosrooisuikerbos has been recorded for this plant.[citation needed]
