Peyman Givi (Persian: پیمان گیوی) is a Persian-American rocket scientist and engineer.
Givi currently serves as a Distinguished Professor of Mechanical Engineering and Materials Science and the James T. McLeod Professor at the University of Pittsburgh, and previously was Distinguished Professor of Aerospace Engineering at State University of New York.
He is an Elected Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS),[1] American Academy of Mechanics (AAM),[2] American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA),[3] American Physical Society (APS), American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME), and the Combustion Institute.
His research interests include thermal-fluid sciences, numerical methods, applied mathematics, random data analysis, stochastic processes, and quantum computing.[4]
