Peter William Wellington (born 21 August 1957)[1] is an Australian politician. He was the independent member for Nicklin in the Queensland Legislative Assembly from 1998 to 2017, and served as Speaker from 2015 to 2017.[2] Wellington has held the balance of power in the legislature twice in his career, and both times saw him give support to Labor-led minority governments.
