The Parramatta Light Rail is a 12-kilometre (7 mi) standard gauge light rail line currently under construction in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia.
The first stage of the line will run from Westmead to Carlingford via the Western Sydney centre of Parramatta, and works commenced in 2019 and is due to start passenger services in mid-2024.[3] A second stage is planned for a branch from Camellia or Rydalmere to Sydney Olympic Park. Construction of stage two is expected to commence in 2024 with the line opening in 2031.
The project will expand the Sydney light rail network, but will be completely separate from the existing lines. It is being managed by Transport for NSW.[4]
