Ottaviano (Neapolitan: Uttajano; known until 1933 as Ottaiano in Italian) is a comune (municipality) in the Metropolitan City of Naples in the Italian region of Campania, located about 20 kilometres (12 mi) east of Naples and is located in the Vesuvian Area. Ottaviano was in Roman times a hamlet of houses within a vast estate (praedium Octaviorum) belonging to the gens Octavia, Augustus' family.

The territory of the municipality includes most of the crater of Mount Vesuvius, and suffered significant destruction during the 1944 eruption. The Medici Castle in Ottaviano houses the headquarters of the Vesuvius National Park.
