The murder of Catherine Carroll occurred on January 1, 1991, in St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador. In the aftermath a miscarriage of justice occurred, resulting in the wrongful conviction of Carroll's son, Gregory Parsons, in 1994. In 1998, Parsons was cleared of her murder, and Brian Doyle was found guilty of the murder in 2002.[1]
