Miltromorpha is a genus of sea snails, marine gastropod mollusks in the family Mitromorphidae, in the superfamily Conoidea the cone snails and their allies.[1] This genus was originally described by Carpenter off the west coast of the United States. The species occur mainly on the continental shelf and in insular environments. Their real diversity is poorly understood.[6]

Mitromorpha was previously categorized under the family Conidae, subfamily Clathurellinae..

The genus Mitrolumna Bucquoy, Dautzenberg & Dollfus, 1883 is currently treated as a synonym or subgenus of Mitromorpha, but is available for the Eastern Atlantic and Mediterranean species, if these are considered to form a distinct radiation.[7][8] The same genus is also used for a number of extinct species:

  • Mitrolumna atypica Lozouet, 2015[9]
  • Mitrolumna hortiensis Lozouet, 1999[10][11]
  • Mitrolumna oligomiocenica Lozouet, 2015[12]

  • Mitrolumna raulini Peyrot, 1928[14]
  • Mitrolumna titanocola Lozouet, 1999[15]
  • Mitrolumna ventriosa Lozouet, 2015[16]
