Miss Grand International 2013 was the first edition of the Miss Grand International pageant,[1][2][3] held on 19 November 2013 at the IMPACT Arena in Muang Thong Thani, Nonthaburi, Thailand.[2][4] Contestants from seventy-one countries and territories competed for the title,[5] of whom the representative of Puerto Rico, Janelee Chaparro, was announced the winner and received a reward of 30,000 USD in cash.[6][7][8] Meanwhile, the representatives of Australia, the Dominican Republic, the Philippines, and Slovakia were named the runners-up.[5][6][9]
The pageant grand final featured a live performance by a Thai hip-hop band, Thaitanium,[10] and was broadcast nationwide via Channel 7,[4][11] with two Thai television personalities, Utt Panichkul and Sonia Couling, as the event's MCs.[10]
Initially, eighty-eight candidates confirmed to participate,[2][12] but some of them did not enter the tournament or withdrew during the pageant boot camp, such as the representatives of Denmark, Sweden, Ukraine, and Singapore.[13][14]
