Miria Contreras (28 April 1927 – 22 November 2002) was Salvador Allende's mistress and secretary.[1][2][3] She was born in Taltal, Chile. After the coup that ousted Allende as president of Chile she received political asylum in Cuba.[4] She and Beatriz Allende, the president's daughter, were close confidantes of Allende.[5] Her son was detained and killed.[6]
