Mighiana is a tribe and a sub-caste of Sial (a Rajput tribe), mostly residents of area of Jhang in the province of Punjab, Pakistan. Mighiana also spelled as Maghiana is a twin city located next to Jhang. Both cities combined are called Jhang-Maghiana area. The founder of this tribe was "Megha Sial/میگھا سیال" A very famous and strong Sial Chief.He was the 9th descendent of Maharaja Rai Sial( Founder of Sial Tribe).In 1604 during the era of Nawab Ghazi Khan Sial he defeated Balochs at the bank of Chenab river and was given control of that area where he formed "Mighiana" town just 5 Kms away from main city Jhang. Later both the cities were combined under a single municipality known as Jhang-Maghiana by the British.[1]
