Michael Karkoc (Ukrainian: Михайло Каркоць; March 6, 1919 – December 14, 2019)[1] was a military officer who served in the Ukrainian Self Defense Legion (USDL) and later in the Waffen-SS during World War II.[2] In June 2013, a man with the same name who lived in Minnesota was alleged by Associated Press to be the same person.[3] His son rejected his father's identification as a "Nazi".
