Matthew Thomas Ritchie (born 10 September 1989) is a professional footballer who plays as a right winger or wing-back for Premier League club Newcastle United. Ritchie represented the Scotland national team from 2015 to 2018. Prior to joining Newcastle United in 2016, he played for Portsmouth, Swindon Town and Bournemouth.
Although born and raised in England, Ritchie qualified to play for Scotland through his Scottish father Alex. He made his senior international debut on 25 March 2015, in a friendly match against Northern Ireland.
