Mary Bubb (née Mary Elizabeth Chaffin, 17 September 1920 - 28 March 1988[1]) was one of the first space journalists reporting on launches out of Cape Canaveral, Florida. Bubb was the only woman reporter for military publication Daily Pacifican during World War II and the first woman space reporter.[2][3][4][5][6]
NASA lists Bubb alongside Walter Cronkite and John Noble Wilford as one of their "Chroniclers,"[7] an honor recognizing broadcasters, journalists, authors, public relations representatives, and public affairs officers who covered Kennedy Space Center for at least a decade.
