^After enacting the constitution, the Third Dáil continued as a provisional parliament and then as the first Free State Dáil until the 1923 election.
^The state's territory was technically the whole island till the Parliament of Northern Ireland formally opted out. The Provisional Parliament's members represented only the territory of Southern Ireland.
