Chi Phi fraternity was established at Princeton University in 1824.[1] The modern men's collegiate fraternity formed from the merger of their organizations that were each known as Chi Phi.[1] As further explained in the main article, Chi Phi came from the following branches:[1]
Chi Phi Society (1824–1825)
Princeton Order (1854–1867)
Southern Order (1858–1874)
Hobart Order, or Secret Order (1860–1867)
Northern Order (1867–1874), combining the Princeton and Hobart Orders
United Order (1874), the current Chi Phi Fraternity, after the merger of the Northern and Southern Orders.
