Lepoglava prison (officially Lepoglava penitentiary, Croatian: Kaznionica u Lepoglavi) is the oldest prison in Croatia.[citation needed] It is located in Lepoglava, Varaždin County, Croatia. During the socialist rule in SFR Yugoslavia, Lepoglava prison served as one of the main political prisons for the opponents and seditionists in the country.
