Leigh Gerdine (22 June 1917 - 1 March 2002) was an American musician, composer, educator, civic leader and patron of the arts who was called "the spiritual father of the arts in St. Louis."[1] A Rhodes Scholar, he served as President of Webster University and founded the Opera Theatre of Saint Louis.[2]
