La Jonquera (Catalan pronunciation:[ləʒuŋˈkeɾə]; Spanish: La Junquera)[4] is a municipality in the comarca of l'Alt Empordà, in Catalonia, Spain. It is situated next to the border with Northern Catalonia, nowadays France, opposite the municipality of Le Perthus.
