LGA 1851 (codename Socket V1) is a land grid array CPU socket designed by Intel for Meteor Lake-PS, Arrow Lake-S and Arrow Lake-S Refresh desktop processors, estimated to release in 2024.[1]

The LGA 1851 socket uses the same dimensions and cooler hole spacing as LGA 1700, making LGA 1700 coolers compatible with the newer socket. The number of contacts has increased, from 1700 (for LGA 1700) to 1851 contacts.[2]

It offers 20 PCIe 5.0 lanes (x16 for the video card and x4 for storage) and an additional 4 PCIe 4.0 lanes for storage. The video card lanes can now be bifurcated to three devices (x8, x4, x4) instead of two for LGA 1700. It only supports DDR5 SDRAM, with no option for DDR4 SDRAM like on previous generation (LGA 1700).[3][4][5][6]
