Khara Rud (Persian: خرارود)[a] is a village in, and the capital of, Khara Rud Rural District[4] of the Central District of Siahkal County, Gilan province, Iran.

At the 2006 National Census, its population was 861 in 223 households.[5] The following census in 2011 counted 902 people in 266 households.[6] The latest census in 2016 showed a population of 805 people in 273 households.[2]
