Katoch is a Suryavanshi Rajput clan.[1][2] There areas of residence are mainly in the Indian states of Himachal Pradesh , Jammu, Punjab, and Uttarakhand.[3] Traditionally resided in Kangra Fort, Trigarta Kingdom, Jalandhar, Multan.

They descend from the Trigarta dynasty mentioned in the Mahabharata. Historically, they ruled over Multan, Jalandhar, and Kangra. Porus also belonged to Katoch clan. Multan Fort, built around 800 B.C. and Kangra fort built after Mahabharata war, both were built by Katoch clan, establishing their antiquity.

Katoch Rajputs have four sub-clans Jaswal Dynasty, Sipaia Dynasty, Guleria Dynasty, and Dadwal Dynasty. [4]
