KGVY (1080 kHz) is a commercial AM radio station licensed to Green Valley, Arizona, and broadcasting to the Tucson metropolitan area. KGVY airs an oldies music format branded as KGVY 1080 AM and 101.5 FM. It is owned by KGVY LLC.[1]
KGVY is a daytimer AM station. It is powered at 1,000 watts non-directional from its transmitter on West Camino Antigua in Sahuarita, Arizona.[2] However, since 1080 AM is a clear channel frequency reserved for Class A stations KRLD Dallas and WTIC Hartford, KGVY must go off the air at night to avoid interference. Programming is heard around the clock on 250-watt FM translator K268DC at 101.5 MHz.
