Jovan William Mabudo Kiryabwire (October 1928 - January 2004), was a Ugandan neurosurgeon, who served as a consultant neurosurgeon at Mulago National Referral Hospital. He concurrently served as a Professor and Head of the Department of Neurosurgery at Makerere University School of Medicine. He died in January 2004 from stomach cancer. He is reported to be the first indigenous African to qualify as neurosurgeon in the countries of East and Central Africa.[1]
