He played college football as a quarterback at James Madison University, and has served as offensive coordinator for the Cleveland Browns, Minnesota Vikings, and Jacksonville Jaguars.

He won a Super Bowl with the Philadelphia Eagles, serving as the team's quarterbacks coach.
